FAQ
You should undergo the procedure of diagnostic hysteroscopy. This procedure is performed in order to evaluate the state of endometrium and detect its pathologies. Endometrial polypuses or synechia may cause infertility. This pathology is eliminated in the process of hysteroscopy and by further drug therapy. After the therapy, there are chances that you may get pregnant in a natural way.
We try to recommend a treatment program which is the most effective and safe for our patients. There are many factors that influence the choice of a therapeutic approach: the age of the married couple, causes of infertility, duration of previous treatment, psychological attitude of both the husband and the wife, chronic or hereditary diseases, etc. In the majority of cases, pharmaceutical or surgical treatment, or a simple and affordable procedure of intrauterine insemination is enough, but if the patient fails to get pregnant after 3 or 4 attempts at IUI, the couple is recommended with IVF.
The program of insemination by the husband’s sperm includes: consultations of the doctor, laboratory treatment of sperm by an embryologist, evaluation of the sperm quality before and after the treatment, the cost of extendable materials and the environment for performing the laboratory procedure, the cost of a catheter and expendable materials for performing the insemination and the cost of the procedure itself.
The insemination with the husband’s sperm can be performed in a natural cycle (without stimulation of ovulation). For this purpose, the patient should be examined (hormonal and infectious screening), it should be made certain that the ovulation is preserved, uterine tubes are patent, the patient is young (under 30 years old), she should have good follicular reserve.
In case of detection of any hormonal changes or ovulatory failures, the correction of hormone disruptions is administered before the insemination, and then stimulation of ovulation is performed. Depending on the hormone disruptions detected, sometimes the treatment of hormone disruptions is performed. It is very difficult to explicitly answer the question of the cost of hormonal agents that may be prescribed by the doctor. It depends upon the kind of the pathology detected or the combination of pathological changes. The question of the medications’ cost is individual, it depends largely upon the pathological changes, follicular reserve, age of the patient, her body weight, etc.
The ultrasonic diagnosis in the course of the program of insemination with the husband’s sperm is performed 2 or 3 times.
You can register for a free primary consultation with any fertility specialist of the clinic. You need to take your medical documentation with you – post-surgery records, X-ray photographs and the results of the uterine tubes patency examination. We will also need to evaluate the state of your follicular reserve, the quality of the spermogram results and decide upon the treatment mode.
For the purpose of restoring the uterine tubes patency, an anti-inflammatory therapy course and a gynecological massage performed by an experienced gynecologist may be used, but generally these methods don’t guarantee the restoration of the tubes’ patency. A uterine tube is not just a tube (which may be obstructed or patent), it also should function, that is why, in case the tube is stretched with commissura, then, even if salpingography shows that it is patent, it may not fulfill its functions. Tubectomy is not always indicated before IVF, as this surgery postpones the IVF procedure for 3 to 6 more months, that is why it is decided upon by the fertility specialist who is going to perform the IVF procedure. In your case, IVF will be the best option. Don’t be daunted by the word “IVF” – as your child will have your genes and the genes of your husband, the pregnancy will be in its normal course, and it is by no means contraindicative for you to deliver the child yourself, unless you have contraindications.
